Spellbinders | Holiday Window Card. Video

Hello all! I have fallen desperately behind with sharing my Christmas projects using Spellbinders dies that I created as a part of my DT assignments. I’ve shared one project a few weeks ago, but there’s still a lot more to show. I’ll let you in on a little secret, this card was created all the way back in April. Honestly, April, can you believe it? I still had *some* of our Christmas decorations from last year (not because I didn’t want to put them away, or because I forgot, but because they fit into our decor so nicely I failed to notice them when I was taking all the other stuff down).

But nonetheless, I remember packing a suitcase to go on a quick vacation to Cyprus and finishing this project at the same time. I am so terrible as sharing things on time (but will all of the moving to another country I do have a pretty good excuse).

Anyhow, back to the card. I know not a lot of people like purple; heck, a lot dislike purple. I am not one of them and I can proudly say that I adore using purple + gold + white on my projects. To create the card I’m sharing in this video I used several die templates from Spellbinders (all linked below). I started with the new for 2015 Holiday 6 x 6 Holly Deco Accent S6-042 dies and added snowflakes from the Create a Flake S5-236 set. This is a rather large card that measures 6″ square. The card contains a hidden message/sentiment that can be seen after opening the window. The first photo in this post shows the message and you can see the closed window below:

This project was fun to make in terms of trying new things. I’ve never done a window like that before and I was excited to try to create shutters using vellum. I think it all worked out quite nicely.
