Spellbinders | Don’t Go “Bacon” My Heart
Hello friends! Do you love to use word play in your cards? I do! For me, being a foreigner especially, it’s always fun and rather educational, too. Today I have a card with a “Don’t Go Bacon My Heart” sentiment, faux eggs and bacon!

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by die-cutting all the parts and pieces using dies from the Breakfast Club stamp & die set by Spellbinders. I love to use fun foam for my cards and I often die-cut coordinating shapes out of fun foam to add stability. In this case I die-cut toast out of brown fun foam (if you don’t have brown – just cut it out of white and color with a Copic marker) and cardstock, inked up cardstock with brown ink and adhered onto a brown foam layer to make it look a bit more real!
I also die-cut fun foam shapes for the egg and bacon. Prior to cutting foam I always add a layer of sticky on both sides to make the shape into an instant double sided sticker – this makes it so much easier to adhere things in place.
I used Copic markers to color the bacon (I can’t recall specific colors I used – I think browns and definitely a hint of red) and added a layer of Glossy Accents on the egg yolk to make it look almost real!
Once I had my die cut pieces ready I stamped my sentiment (it’s a one piece stamp, so I first inked the top part, stamped it, cleaned it and next stamped the bottom part leaving space in between). I adhered toast, egg and bacon and embellished my card with some Sparkling Clear confetti.

January 11, 2018Hi Yana,
This is the sort of Valentine’s card my hubby would adore with the humour aspect to it. I have seen another designer use the Spellbinder’s Breakfast Club stamp set before but I had not thought of it as a Valentine’s card. Cool, maybe that is my next order. :O)
