CARDS DETAILS
I cut one of the sheets from the patterned papers from my kit apart into little cards to use as focal points for my projects. There are tons of printed cards like this so one can make loads of cards if needed. I still have a lot of the supplies left and I barely even touched my stamp set from the kit.
I added a vellum layer (used vellum from my stash) cut 1/4″ larger than the printed card and a layer of patterned paper (also from the kit) cut also 1/4″ larger. I used foam adhesive for every layer to adhere it and create dimension.
If you’ve seen some of my latest videos you might remember the dry embossing technique that I’m currently obsessing with. See this video for details.
I created super simple dry embossed backgrounds for these cards. One of the backgrounds was scored at a diagonal forming pretty diamonds, I also added liquid pearls using Nuvo Drops where the lines intersect – love this look!
This handmade card uses Nuvo Drops as a background element. Want to see 4 other ways you can use Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios in card making? Check out this article – 5 Ways to Use Nuvo Drops.
My other two backgrounds were scored horizontally at 1/2″ intervals. I kept one as is, trimmed to 3 3/4 x 5″ and foam mounted onto a pink card base (I used cardstock from the kit to make the base for some of my cards). To spice up the second background I white heat embossed XOXOXO – always love the look of white on white.
I added pink puffy hearts to my vertical cards, I love these puffy stickers – they have a fabulous gold rim to them.

December 27, 2017Gorgeous cards. Those cut-up pages from patterned pads are very useful for simple cards. I’m really enjoying your dry embossing, especially the diamond pattern with the Nuvo pearls. Happy New Year to you.

December 27, 2017Hi Yana! I really love the look of your “stationary” type cards and others, with dry embossing. ( like these & your beautiful cards @ Papertrey). The added pearls at the intersections is a real beauty! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
