Simon Says Stamp | Good Vibes Release. Surf’s Up Inspiration Cards. Video
Hello friends! I have a bright and colorful Summer vacation cards to share featuring latest release from Simon Says Stamp – the Good Vibes!
I am only using one stamp set for my projects today, this is by far my current favorite set for Summer and whenever I have a set that I absolutely adore I try to use it as many times as I can, before I put it down. And that’s exactly the case with the Surf’s Up set.
Like this project? Pin it and save for later | Curious about my project photography? Click for details.
I have 2 more cards to share in this blog post (below) and also sneaks of a few upcoming projects & videos featuring this same Surf’s Up stamp set by Simon.
VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel:
Like this video? Please give it a big thumbs up (you can do this on Youtube video page right under the video) and share with a crafty friend! Leave me a comment too, I love hearing from you!
CARDS DETAILS
I started working on this card by white heat embossing landscape circle onto Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock. Next, I cut this image out using a coordinating die and used my Simon’s dye inks to color it.
I created masks with the help of masking paper and blended each section of this image separately – sky, island and water. I used Maliblue, Deep Sea, Duckling and Scuba inks for my blending.
I also stamped little scene-building images from this stamp set onto same paper using my Intense Black ink. I used Copic colors and did super simple and quick coloring. I mention my go-to Copic color combo in my video – you can check those out here.
I also used coordinating dies to cut the little pieces out and arranged them on my ink blended circle creating a summer vacation theme. I stamped “Have Fun” sentiment and several sea gulls in black ink.
To create a background for this card I used word stamps from the Surf’s Up stamp set and stamped Vacation, Summer and Surf’s Up in versamark ink onto Sea Glass cardstock by Simon Says Stamp. I adhered it onto an A2 white card base, foam mounted my ink blended circle and embellished my card using Butterfly Kisses sequins.
ADDITIONAL INSPIRATION
Here are the other 2 cards I made using this same stamp set – both are very similar and use identical supplies. I didn’t differentiate the water, land and sky on these and did simple ink blended transitions.
SNEAK PEEKS
Like I mentioned, I have MORE inspiration coming featuring this stamp set. Catch a quick sneak peek below:

June 20, 2018Great cards and fun video. I’m with you—when a stamp set or die catches my eye, I want to use it for lots of projects. This particular set has lots of images I already own, so I can create my own scenes. However, I love the Beachy Waves background stamp, the Jazz Dance stencil, and the Perforated Pockets dies in this release.

June 20, 2018I am going to try your technique out Yana of stamping all the images from a stamp set so that I do not have to go back to stamping again. I am also going to try and make more than one card with one stamping set. Thank you for all the TOP TIPs and sharing this with us crafters. :O)
