CARD DETAILS
I started to work on my card by selecting images I wanted to use from the new Flourishing Fuchsias stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh. This stamp set features several beautiful outline florals and leaves that let your create stunning floral accents for your Spring and everyday cards. Since I knew I’d be coloring these images with Polychromos colored pencils I picked the paper that I prefer to use with these pencils – Strathmore Toned Gray sketch paper.
I wanted to create pink flowers, green leaves and have my floral accents sit on a light blue background. This dictated the colors of pencils I chose to use for my project.
I used #123 Fuchsia, #129 Pink Madder Lake, #101 White, #171 Light Green, #166 Grass Green and #266 Permanent Green.
This stamp set also has coordinating dies available and I used those to cut these images out in my Spellbinders Platinum die cutting and embossing machine.
I mentioned I wanted to have the pink flower on a light blue background. I wanted to try something different, so instead of using white paper and blending blue background or using blue paper I used same gray paper as I used for my coloring and blended Sea Glass pigment ink by Avery Elle using a blending brush by Tonic. Something different, call it an experiment. I did like the way it turned it, although having my flowers on a white background with blue ink blending would have looked a bit better I think.
I used foam adhesive squares and also glue and adhered colored and die cut elements in place. I white heat embossed sentiment in the middle of the panel having floral accents go around it.
I also felt like the background panel was a bit too entry, so to add some detail I did ghost stamping and I stamped same images I stamped and colored onto the background filling it in. Lastly, I used new Jewels in color white and I added a bunch of jewels on to my card to dress it. I really love using those jewels for my projects, they are different from the sequins and a lot of interest and richness to my projects.

May 11, 2018Beautiful card, Yana. I love this stamp set, and your coloring is gorgeous. I’ve invested in a set of colored pencils (not polychromos — maybe when I get better at using them), and I’ve having fun playing with them.
