Spellbinders | Shaped Cupcakes & Pretty Florals. Small & Large Dies Of The Month – June

Hello friends! Today I have a few cards to share I made for the Spellbinders June Small & Large Die of the month. I’ve been wanting to film a video to show you more ideas using these, but time has been escaping me these days (I’ve been cat-sitting for my mom for the past 2 weeks and also had a lot of work I needed to catch up on), so I haven’t had the time to film anything just yet. I might later if there’s time.

JUNE SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH

Anyhow, I made several cards to showcase Spellbinders’ Small & Large die of the month clubs this month. If you follow Spellbinders blog you might have already seen those cards there, if not – you’re in luck, I’m sharing them here!

The Small Die Of The Month this month is a large cupcake die. It features individual cupcake pieces that let you cut parts and pieces for your cupcake and also embellish it with a candle and flowers. I made 2 cards using it – one is the shaped cupcake card you see above and another is a card just with the candles. There’s a quick video tutorial on the Spellbinders Youtube channel to show you how to make the cupcake card.

I used white, pink and yellow cardstock along with glitter paper to die-cut elements for my my card. I especially love the glitter paper for the frosting on the cupcake – it looks so delicious!

This cupcake is quite large in size, it is a bit taller than an A2 card base, so when you make it into a shaped card it’s just the perfect size. I made mine quite dimensional as that’s how I like my cards.

For my next card I used just the candles to show you a different way to use these dies. I went with the same color palette – white, pink and yellow.

The candle die adds beautiful embossing and debossing making the candle die cut nice and detailed. I die-cut candles out of yellow cardstock, stamped sentiment over them, put them back into the die and dry-embossed and finally blended yellow ink over them to add some shading.

I also stamped same sentiment directly onto the card base and foam mounted my candles on top making the sentiment into a continuous one. I added pink flames and a pink flower and embellished this with black pearls.

JUNE LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH

Spellbinders June Large Die Of The Month is done in a completely different style and it is oh so very gorgeous! This die set features two oversized corner floral images. I used one of them for my card below. The size of this card is A2 to give you an idea of the die itself.

I think this is fabulous die to use for wedding invitations – it is just to elegant and pretty! I went with white, gray and pink color combo for this card. I die-cut flower out of white cardstock and white fun foam (this is how I was able to make it so dimensional). I adhered the two together and adhere onto the card. I added “For My Beautiful Daughter” sentiment be using a stamp set from Altenew and embellished this card with a few hot pink Nuvo Drops (in color Carnation Pink).

SPELLBINDERS SMALL AND LARGE DIE CLUBS OF THE MONTH

Spellbinders Small Die Of The Month Subscription program is just $7.5 a month plus shipping, flat rate USA shipping is $5. This ends up being $12.50 a month; if you live outside the USA – shipping cost depends on your location. The Large Die Of The Month Subscription is $20 plus shipping.

These dies are not available for purchase separately, you can only buy them as a member of a club. If they don’t sell out you can buy them next month, but the price is higher.
