Flora & Fauna | Funny Croc & Hippo Card

Hello guys! Happy Thursday! We’re flying out next Tuesday morning and I’m still frantically packing everything (we ended up getting 2 more suitcases to fly with – so 2 per each one of us). I’ve already packed my craft supplies – feels kind of weird not having my things around, I itch to color something in the evening, but things have all been packed!

Anyhow, today I have a funny Crocodile and Hippo card to share created using some fun goodies from Flora & Fauna. You can also catch an Instagram Story on my account later today showing how I made this card step by step (or see same photos below).

CARD DETAILS

Start by stamping animals from Mermaid Animals set in alcohol marker friendly ink onto white cardstock. I used Simon’s Intense Black ink and Neenah Solar White 80 LB cardstock.

Next, color with Copic markers. I used YG99, YG67 for the croc; W1, W3 and W5 for the hippo. Cut images out using coordinating dies or fussy cut using scissors! If cutting with scissors, cut hippo’s tail off.

Stamp “ground” from the Texture Set Five set in light gray into onto a white cardstock panel. Foam mount crocodile. Stamp hippo over the croc (so that he has a tail on the finished card!) and stamp prints on the ground in brown ink. Next, foam mount hippo.

Heat emboss “Unicorn Dreams” and use just the “Dreams” part for the sub sentiment for this card. Foam mount using black tape.

Stamp bird from the Mermaid Kisses set over the hippo. Color using C1 and C3 Copic markers. Stamp “Yay” from the Texture Two set. Trim panel and foam mount onto an A2 white card base. Embellish card using clear droplets.

This is such a fun card showing us crafters that with only a few resources a great card can be achieved. The Flora and Fauna stamp sets give a great start to this. The images are fun to use. I love the way you have layered the critters on top of each other. Good luck with the move. :O)
