Right At Home | Bold Stamped Patterns Using Simple Shapes

Hello there! Today I thought I’d share a few very simple yet bold stamped patterns using simple shapes – flower base and leaf. I love to stamp my own patterns and I always get very excited when I see my blog readers trying my techniques and succeeding, but at the same time I know that many find pattern stamping to be a bit intimidating. So today I wanted to share 2 cards and 2 very simple and very doable patterns anyone can stamp!

CARDS DETAILS

I used images from the Abstract Florals stamp set from Right At Home to stamp these – a round-like flower base and oval leaf, although many other simple shape stamps can be used. The Abstract Florals stamp set is a fun one to play with and I am looking forward to stamping several a bit more complex patterns using it as soon as I find a bit of free time.

I picked 3 shades of one ink color and stamped my images alternating the colors to create a dynamic looking pattern. Even though I used only one image, I was able to create movement on my background using color.

While I kept my round flower base stamp in the same position, meaning I tried not to rotate my stamp when creating the pattern, I rotated my leaf stamp 90 and 180 degrees when stamping the second, green pattern.

I wanted to keep these cards very simple, so I completed them by adding a stamped and die-cut Blessed word and additional “to have you as a friend” sentiment from the Script Greetings set. I love the wide coordinating die that goes with this set – it leaves a much bigger border around the stamped word and helps it pop right off the card.

If you are intimidated by stamping patterns (or if you have no idea what I am talking about – check out this link) – give this simple pattern a go. If you don’t have multiple shades of one ink color – use one or just two. And simply have fun!
